Peter Morris
Peter Morris is an Australian crime novelist whose stories are shaped as much by personal experience as imagination.
Before writing novels, Peter spent decades developing and delivering training programs throughout Australia. Known for his engaging presentation style, he believed the best way to teach was through stories, humour and real-life experiences. Those same principles now underpin his crime fiction, where memorable characters and compelling stories take centre stage.
In his twenties, Peter developed a deep connection with Australia’s tropical north, spending time in places such as Weipa, Thursday Island, Cairns, Innisfail, Townsville and Darwin. Those experiences, and the unforgettable people he met along the way, continue to shape the settings, characters and atmosphere of his novels.
His debut novel, The Long Grass, is the first in a crime series featuring Detective Senior Sergeant Dave O’Reilly and Detective Sergeant Annette Mollison. Set in 1985, the series combines atmospheric Australian settings with complex investigations, memorable characters and moral questions that are rarely black and white.
Peter lives in Brisbane with his wife, where he is currently writing the next novel in the series.
